There are mostly older children waiting for adoption though an independent or private adoption. There are babies that are going into adoptive family homes by choices of their birth family. Most of these babies waiting for adoption go home with their new adoptive parents from the hospital by the choice of their birth mother. There is a period of time between placement and finalization. There are toddlers waiting for adoption also some in foster care and others in private or independent adoption or being parented by a birth parent considering adoption for their toddler.
